Tenant Story
Ashley Ander established a music-driven athletic experience on the Ossington strip through rhythmic movement, and immersive sound design.

Co-founded in 2014 by Ashley Ander, Moe Samieian + JJ Wilson, Ride Cycle Club launched in Vancouver's Yaletown before expanding east to Toronto. Operating as a boutique indoor cycling brand, the company built its model around a rhythm-based curriculum that pairs heavy cardiovascular exertion with full-body conditioning.

Since opening its flagship Toronto location on Ossington, the brand has scaled across multiple markets while maintaining a standardized instructional approach. The studio operates daily classes running from early morning through evening hours, filling a 56-bike room with riders moving in unison to curated playlists.
Despite the brand’s multi-city footprint, Ander's approach remains grounded in real-time observation and tight local management.
"The lights go down, the candles are lit, the music is loud, and everything else disappears. It’s just you, the music, and the energy of the room."
- Ashley Ander, Co-Founder & CEO, Ride Cycle Club
At RIDE, the music leads everything. Each 45-to-55-minute class is built around movement to the beat, blending micro movements, core stability work, and a dedicated upper-body weight sequence into one immersive, full-body experience. Every movement has intention, and every cue connects back to the music. Instructors train for months to learn how to lead the room, match their movement and cues to the beat, and create an experience that feels effortless, even when the work is anything but.

Before opening the permanent location at 98 Ossington Avenue, accessed via 2 Humbert Street, Ride Cycle Club operated an invite-only space in the basement beneath 12 Ossington called RIDE UNDRGRND. This period allowed the team to refine the class experience and build an initial local client base just steps from what would eventually become RIDE's permanent Toronto home.
"We’ve built a place where people belong and make lifelong friends. The community has always been as important as the workout."
- Ashley Ander, Co-Founder & CEO, Ride Cycle Club
To support this model, the physical space requires specialized sound isolation. Built within a former garage structure set back from Ossington Avenue, the interior was designed in collaboration with MGBA and constructed by BUILD IT. The space features heavy acoustic soundproofing to contain the high-volume music, custom matte black walls, and a candlelit entryway that transitions riders out of the surrounding environment.

Inside, three rows of bikes face a central instructor platform, while side rows frame the room to maximize floor space. Key amenities include full change rooms, dedicated locker bays, and clip-in shoe rentals designed specifically for the studio's pedal systems.
"For 45 minutes, the outside world doesn’t exist. No screens or distractions, just the room and the people in it."
- Ashley Ander, Co-Founder & CEO, Ride Cycle Club
As Ride Cycle Club expands its digital programming and on-demand library, the physical space on Ossington remains the core benchmark for the brand's East Coast presence. By maintaining control over instructor choreography, room acoustics, and lighting, RIDE delivers a consistent, high-output training environment.
